The Team

Christopher Jackson is the President of SFG Asset Advisors and manages the fund of funds program. Prior to SFG, Mr. Jackson helped build and manage three different hedge fund management firms in both strong and weak markets. From 1999-2002, Mr. Jackson was a Partner and COO of Barbary Coast Capital Management where he managed all non-investment operations. In 1998, Mr. Jackson helped co-found Hoover Capital Management where he raised $100 million in institutional and private assets and managed the growth and development of the firm. He previously worked at Emerging Growth Management where he was the Head of Marketing and assisted with client service. Mr. Jackson graduated from Lehigh University in 1990.

Michael F. Jackson is the Founder of SFG Asset Advisors. Mr. Jackson has forty years of experience as a Portfolio Manager, Analyst and Investor in multiple industries and markets. Prior to SFG, Mr. Jackson was the Founder and Chairman of Emerging Growth Management, one of the first and most successful hedge fund management companies on the West Coast.  At EGM, Mr. Jackson started the firm’s first hedge fund in 1986 and in subsequent years founded two other hedge funds, a convertible bond fund and a fund of funds. All of the firm’s products had excellent returns and the assets under management grew to over a billion dollars under his leadership.  From 1982-1986, Mr. Jackson was a General Partner of Hambrecht & Quist Equity Management, a registered investment firm specializing in emerging growth stocks. From 1972-1982, he was the senior Portfolio Manager at Baker Fentress & Company, a $250 million publicly traded closed-end fund. Mr. Jackson graduated from the University of Virginia and holds an MBA from the University of Southern California.

Elliot Tight is a portfolio manager and head of alternative investments at SFG Asset Advisors. Since joining in 2010, he has been responsible for quantitative and qualitative evaluation of current and potential alternative investments. Prior to joining SFG, Mr. Tight was a financial analyst at Dubai Cares, a foundation funded by the Dubai Government, where he monitored more than a billion dollars in investments. Mr. Tight previously gained experience analyzing funds as a Summer Analyst at Sand Hill Advisors, a private wealth management office in Palo Alto. He was also a Summer Analyst at Signet Capital Management, a billion dollar fund of funds in Switzerland. Mr. Tight graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Ethan Doyle Ethan Doyle is a portfolio manager and the director of research at SFG Asset Advisors. Prior to SFG Asset Advisors, Mr. Doyle was Senior Vice President at Tiedemann Wealth Management which oversees approximately $10 billion in assets primarily for ultra-high net worth families.  As a member of the investment team he contributed to Tiedemann’s investment process, broadly ranging from macro strategy and manager allocations to the evaluation of direct co-investment opportunities.  Prior to Tiedemann, Mr. Doyle was Co-Founder and Managing Partner with RDG Capital, a New York-based fundamental value activist-focused investment firm.  At RDG, Ethan was jointly responsible for executing all aspects of the firm’s strategy.  Prior to RDG, Ethan worked with San Francisco-based GCA Savvian Group in the principal investing unit from 2007-2009, focused on fundamental value-driven investment opportunities across a wide range of asset classes spanning private/public equity and debt; from 2004-2007, he worked in GCA Savvian Group’s Mergers & Acquisitions advisory business. Prior to GCA Savvian, Ethan spent two years as a research analyst for San Francisco-based Skiritai Capital, a small cap value hedge fund.

Ethan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in Political Economy from Princeton University.

Daphne J. Dickson is COO of SFG Asset Advisors. In her current role, she oversees the legal, compliance, operations and governance of the family office and associated entities.  Ms. Dickson also manages the real estate assets and is involved with private equity and hedge fund evaluation.  From 1995 to 2006, Ms. Dickson worked in public relations and marketing, which included running the launch of over 40 consumer-facing technology companies and major product introductions. Ms. Dickson holds a B.A. in Communications from The University of Virginia. She is a member of 100 Women in Hedge Funds and Institute for Private Investors.

Hanna Stolarczyk has worked as office manager at SFG Asset Advisors since 2002. Prior to joining the company, Hanna worked for several years at Lucent Technologies as language consultant and project manager. She is actively involved with the nonprofit sector and is a Board member of the Jackson Family Foundation, serving as philanthropic advisor, reviewing projects and recommending charitable causes to the Foundation’s Board of Directors. She is also an active volunteer and Board Secretary of the Napa Medical Research Foundation. Hanna was born in Poland, where she received a degree in literature from Nicolas Copernicus University in Torun. She has lived in the Bay Area for over 20 years and holds degrees in linguistics and business administration from San Francisco State University.
